The first race meeting was held on 11th November 1913. Major Races: Gosford Gold Cup, Pacesetter Stakes, Belle of Tune Stakes, Gosford 3yo Classic, Carlton Slipper, Schweppes Guinea. • Bunbury Turf Club The Bunbury Turf Club (Western Australia) is a provincial racing centre conducting meetings from Melbourne Cup Day in November to the middle of April. The meetings are held mid-week and Sundays with the Bunbury Stakes on Tuesday March 16 and the Swan Draught Bunbury Cup on Thursday March 18 2004. • Avoca Shire Turf Club If ever there was going to be anything which would make you think about owning a racehorse or becoming an advocate for the racing industry or rural communities then the Avoca Racecourse on Anzac Day/Caulfield Cup Day or our Pink Lamb and Purple Shiraz race-day would be it. • Bendigo Jockey Club Bendigo Jockey Club - home of the Bendigo Cup (LR). The Bendigo Jockey Club was formed in April 1854, and within four years held its first Cup meeting. It was then known as the Sandhurst Cup. The first Cup at Bendigo was staged three years before the first running of the Melbourne Cup in 1861. • Geelong Racing Club The Geelong Racing Club is one of Victoria's most prestigious racing clubs, conducting 21 race meetings per season including the feature event the Holden Geelong Cup.
