We also take in the old & the young, the unwanted,and the abused and find them new loving homes. Location: Canada, Ontario • OSAS - Ontario Standardbred Adoption Society OSAS is an approved charitable organization, founded in 1996 to assist in the adoption and relocation of retired and non-racing Standardbred horses within Ontario. OSAS is operated by its own Board of Directors, and is funded in part by the Ontario Harness Horse Association, by other horse industry organizations and by private donations. Location: Canada, Ontario, Mississauga • Donkey Sanctuary of Canada Dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and protection of abandoned, neglected or abused donkeys, mules and hinnies, the Sanctuary provides these animals a lifelong home. Through a quarterly newsletter, school, and youth group visits on site, DSC staff and volunteers teach children about responsible animal guardianship and care. This Equine Rescue was started by Claire Malcolm in 1997 to help save horses and ponies from slaughter, and take in any unwanted horse or pony and find them a new, loving home.
