The Home was originally established back in the 1880s to help the working London horses. SWHP is run almost entirely by volunteers. We will care for abused or injured horses and ponies, rehabilitating them and re-homing them in a safe, caring environment. No horse or pony taken in by SWHP will ever be sold. We will rehome each horse or pony on a loan basis and monitor their progress through yearly visits.

  British Horse Society Rescue Centre
The BHS has its own National Rehabilitation Centre situated at Oxhill in Warwickshire. The Centre has first class facilities to care for and retrain - if necessary - horses and ponies which have been neglected or ill-treated. The Centre has 60 acres of grazing and has facilities for up to 38 ponies and horses.
