  Transylvanian Hound Information
The Transylvanian Hounds have two categories, Short and Tall. This scent hound was bred in Hungary and used by royalty and nobility to hunt bear, stag, boar, wolf, and lynx. Sadly, after WWII, the Romanian government, perceiving these dogs to be a symbol of Hungarian occupation, sought to exterminate the breed through official orders.

The breed has become the most popular hunting hound amongst roe deer hunters of Norway and Sweden, especially in the northern regions.
