  Afghan Hound Photo Gallery
Our Afghan Hound Companions. For two dozen years we've had the good fortune to have wonderful Afghan Hounds for companions. They're a source of constant beauty, joy, and amusement. This breed isn't for everyone: Afghan Hounds are enegetic, intelligent, highly independent and sometimes stubborn, and very grooming-intensive.

  Lapponian Herder (Lapinporokoira) Standard
Acceptance to the breed register was started in the 1950's. At that time the modern Finnish Lapphund and the Lapponian Herder were still recognised as the same breed. The Lapponian Herder was separated into its own breed 10.12.1966, as it had been noted that two different reindeer herding breeds existed.

  Huntaway Dog Information
Developed in New Zealand as sheepdogs suitable for working around steep hills and large flocks, the Huntaway is very intelligent and has a great 'voice' -- one of the traits deliberately bred into the Huntaway is a loud bark suitable for controlling sheep and carrying long distances. This was particularly important in the steep hill country of New Zealand.

The Huntaway (New Zealand Sheepdog) Photo Gallery
The Huntaway is used throughout New Zealand to drive and manage the massive flocks of sheep. They are now regarded as part of the heritage of New Zealand. Huntaways are not recognised by kennel clubs as a "true" breed, but as only working dogs. There are two recognised types of Huntaway: long haired and short haired.
