Around the year 1921 the breed was first exhibited at a dog show in Tokyo. Subsequently, in 1925, tow pairs of white Spitz were imported from Canada, and until around 1936, imports came from Canada, the U.S., Australia and China. • Japanese Spitz Standard Japanese Spitz Standard: General Appearance, Characteristics, Temperament, Head and Skull, Eyes, Ears, Mouth, Neck, Forequarters, Body, Hindquarters, Feet, Tail, Gait/Movement, Coat, Size, Faults, Note. • Japanese Spitz Picture, Facts, Information The Japanese Spitz is a miniature lap spitz, descended from longer haired Nordic dogs brought to Japan in the early part of this century.
