• Miniature Schnauzer Breed Standard The Miniature Schnauzer is a robust, active dog of terrier type, resembling his larger cousin, the Standard Schnauzer, in general appearance, and of an alert, active disposition. Faults - - Toyishness, ranginess or coarseness. Size, Proportion, Substance - From 12 to 14 inches. • Miniature Schnauzer Dog - Breed Information The Miniature Schnauzer was developed in Germany, probably resulting from crosses between the Standard Schnauzer and the Affenpinscher. Black Spitz-type dogs and even Poodles have also been suggested as possible ancestors of the breed.
