• Alberta Professional Chuckwagon and Chariot Association Our Association was formed in 1964 by a handful of cowboys who were interested in racing ponies that were 48 inches and under. There was so much interest and involvement that two main categories evolved, chariots and chuckwagons. A team of ponies pulls the chariots and two teams in tandem pull the chuckwagon. With a few rule changes, the size allowed now to race is 54 inches, which is 13.2hands high.
